Presentation:

Ostelea’s Professional Careers Service is a support platform for current and former students which strives to guide, develop and accompany students on route to reaching their professional goals and milestones, as well as adapting their professional expectations and interests to be better aligned to the employment market.

The School’s Professional Careers Service is a meeting point for students and companies, enabling each student to develop effectively in line with their professional profile: Entrepreneur, Career Transition and Recruiting.

The School current has more than 2,700 partner companies and signs around 300 new partnership agreements with companies every year. The Employment Exchange processes around 2,100 offers per year for employment and internships in 20 different countries and a diverse range of sectors of tourism, services and hospitality.

Isabel Carrillo

Director of the Professional Careers Service. Academic Cross-Profile Programs

Expert in Human Resources She has a Bachelor Degree in Work Sciences, a University Diploma in Social Work and a Master in Human Resources Management. She is qualified as an Executive Business Coach and specialist in Communication Skills in the business environment. She has a Technical Diploma in Occupational Risk Prevention and is an expert in Labour Law, Social Security and Collective Bargaining Techniques. She is certified and authorized by the ICQP (Catalan Institute of Professional Qualifications) of the Catalan Government as an Assessor and Evaluator of professional competences in the family, specializing in Human Resources Administration and Management.

She has extensive experience in Human Resources, with a career spanning over 30 years, specializing in various sectors, including Consultancy, Sales and Retail, Hospitality, Restaurants, Tourism, Training and Education.

Tourism Talent Week

 

Over the course of a week in March, several leading companies in the sector are invited to give a presentation of their company lasting around two hours, giving an overview of the internship and employment opportunities available, before interviewing our students. The companies to have taken part in the event include Apple, Meliá Hotels International, Grupo Tragaluz, American Express, Derby Hotels, The Ritz Carlton, etc.

Employment Forum

 

Several companies participate online and post their employment opportunities and interviewing our students. The event has an international scope and welcomes over 20,000 visitors, 28 participating companies, with more than 513 employment offers being posted to work in 20 countries, 24 hour per day for 7 days.

The leading companies that participated in previous editions include Meliá Internacional, Nestlé, El Tenedor, Merck, Grupo Planeta, Winche Redes Comerciales, Philips Morris International, EY, Grant Thornton and General Cable, among others.

Company Meeting

 

Sessions with national and international companies in the sector, where students gain first-hand insight into the profiles in the highest demand and companies’ needs, as well as having the opportunity to meet the guest company’s Human Resources professionals. Company Meetings are held every month on both Ostelea’s campuses.

Management Series

 

Conferences specifically focused on particular positions to guide students towards their future careers. The sessions are led by middle managers from leading companies in the sector.

Graduate Programs

 

Development programs run by multinational companies as prestigious as Hilton Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Hotusa, NH Hotel Group, Accor Hotels and The Ritz Carlton Hotel, among others. The aim is to recruit candidates from the best universities and business schools.

The selected students are incorporated in the companies and they complete an internship program in rotation through the different national and international offices of the organizations.

 

Cross-Profile Academic Services

 

TOURISM SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (TSDP)

The TSDP is a voluntary program that Ostelea offers exclusively to our students, giving them the opportunity to learn to develop additional competences and skills to complement those inherently involved in tourism, thereby enhancing the degree of employability of our students (at no extra charge to the enrolment fee, limited places, the program is run in Spanish). The main objective is to enable students to learn to effectively and decisively tackle the different professional challenges that may arise in the business world of the tourism sector.

Based on prior analysis, Ostelea has detected that the tourism and hospitality sectors require people with these capacities in the course of their professional activities.

The program is completely voluntary (limited places) and includes:

  • SEO and SEM

  • Coaching

 

    SEMINAR: SKILLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HOSPITALITY

    The Hospitality seminar includes a number of voluntary in-person workshops run outside of the teaching timetable, offered free of charge within the enrolment fee. The sessions are run in Spanish and there is a limited number of places available. If a student registers for the seminar, their attendance is compulsory.

    Specific training in customer service. A passion for service.

     

    SEMINAR: LANGUAGES

    In the Language seminar, students can choose one of the two languages taught. The seminar includes a number of voluntary in-person workshops run outside of the teaching timetable, offered free of charge within the enrolment fee. The sessions are run in Spanish and there is a limited number of places available. If a student registers for the seminar, their attendance is compulsory.

    The following languages are available:
